Little Italy (Italietta) is a special magazine.

First of all, it’s a magazine in just one issue (number one), secondly, it was wrapped up by a group of people who accepted the challenge to put it together in a one-day run. Many of the contributors had never met before.

Twentyfirst of April Twothousandtwelve. Twenty-five guests who agreed to meet at the Portaluppi Foundation (Milan) to work together for the whole day. Like in grade school: everyone busy writing, sketching, shaping out the final contribution… overlapping his/her work with twenty-four other guests.

What you see here is the web version. The matrix is on paper (A4), promptly scanned and put  out as a phone application. Soon the printed version will be ready.

It was an experiment we enjoyed pretty much. What can we say? Well, we are definitely ready for number two…

This extended series of watercolors were launched in September of 2011 in College Station Texas and are currently expanding in scope here in Miami Florida. Especially interesting are the large specimens coming from Casco. The Plastic Series will likely continue through 2012. The collection holds increasing varieties of plastics containers for food storage, including perishables and liquids. BW photos show various plastic assemblies. These various transparent and semi transparent plastic containers are designed with maximum structural efficiency and economy, and when “pinch”sealed can be stacked one on top of each other into suggestive compositions.
