Assignment: Students are to divide in 4 groups of 4 ( ) and chose a street site within the walls of Castiglion Fiorentino.

The street site should ideally be complex, with variations in elevations, façade conditions and shape. The site should also have circulation and or spaces of movement and rest for local residents. Each group is to focus on a 50 m length of the street: this section will become the study area for documentation and model cast.

Instructions: each group, once they have selected their study area, will measure photo document, sketch and create a cardboard model of the street and adjacent façades. Include only flat surfaces, no door or window details need to be shown except as geometrical protrusions or indentations.

When the model 1:50 m is completed the group will construct a gesso casting of the street void.

Due Monday 4 February: all measured drawings, photo collages of street and analysis of street site.

Due Monday 11 February: preliminary gesso casting

Due Thursday February 14: final gesso casting
